 3-Methacryloxypropylmethyldimethoxysilane is an organofunctional silane used to improve the physical and electrical properties of glass reinforced and mineral filled thermoset resin, typically those curing via a free-radical mechanism (e.g. polyester, polyurethanes and acrylics) and in filled or reinforced thermoplastic polymers, including polyolefins and thermoplastic polyurethanes.

Applications and Performance
SCA-R74T is a kind of methacryloxy silane, its molecular structure has a methacryloxy functional group with unsaturated double bond structure and two hydrolyzable alkoxy groups-methoxy This dual reactivity makes it possible to improve the bond, adhesion and phase between the two through the two-way chemical reaction with inorganic materials (glass, metal, filler) and organic polymers (thermosetting resins, plastics, elastomers). It can improve the mechanical properties of the resin-based composite material or improve the bonding strength and water resistance of the resin coating. At the same time, this product can also be copolymerized with monomers such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, vinyl acetate, styrene, etc., which contain unsaturated double bonds, thereby imparting moisture curing, good adhesion and water resistance to the copolymer. In different applications, it can be used as a coupling agent, adhesion promoter, crosslinking agent, surface modifier for pigments and fillers, organic silicon modified graft comonomers, etc.
SCA-R74T is dimethoxysilane, so its stability in water is better than trimethoxysilane SCA-R74M; at the same time, the cured and crosslinked resin coating has lower crosslink density and better coating toughness.
