Abstract
Dry silane XLM693 is a dry, free-flowing granules masterbatch of liquid silane FR693, a vinyl silane mixture, with a foamed LLDPE as the carrier. This product has a vinyl organo-functional group and can be over a broad range of applications to provide superior bonds between inorganic fillers and organic polymers.
XLM693 functions by chemically coupling the filler to the backbone of the polymer during vulcanization, compounding or crosslinking, and it can be used at peroxide systems.

Applications
It is mainly used as a coupling agent for halogen-free, flame retardant (HFFR) filled polyolefin and elastomeric compounds for manufacture of compounds for HFFR insulation and jacketing. Dry silane XLM693 allows high loadings of hydrated minerals (Aluminium Trihydrate or Magnesium Hydroxide) without negative effects. Offers good flame-retardancy, very good electrical properties, improved mechanical properties such as higher impact resistance, tensile strength, elongation, heat deformation resistance, flexural strength and environmental stress crack resistance and improved dispersion of fillers. The mainly commercial application includes cable and rubber goods, used with peroxide as the initiator.
Dosage
Depending on the formulation and performance target, a dosage level of 1~2% active silane is needed (e. G. When using XLM693-LL1, an addition of 2.5- 5 % is recommended).
Packing
This product is available in 20 kg aluminum foil bag and 200 liters steel drum. Other custom-tailor packing is possible on special request.
Storage and shelf life
Should be stored in dry, cool, ventilated room; Keep away from water, moisture, high temperature and fire. Packages already opened should be used up immediately; Otherwise this product will react with the moisture in the air and will be not qualified for use.
This product has a shelf life of at least 6 months in the original packing.
