Product Description

Abstract
TiLink TCA-AA is titanium acetylacetonate bis(pentane-2, 4-dionato-O, O')bis(alkanolato)titanium, is a titanium chelates with acetylacetone as chelating agent with CAS No. 17927-72-9. It is the equivalent product to Tyzor AA from DuPont.

Identification
Chemical Name: Bis(acetylactonate) diisopropoxide titanium
Synonyms: Di-isopropoxy titanium bis (2, 4-pentanedionate); Di-isoporpoxy titanium acetylacetonate; Bis(pentane-2, 4-dionato-O, O')bis(alkanolato)titanium
CAS Registry Number: 17927-72-9

Equivalents
Tyzor AA from DuPont (now DorfKetal)

Applications and Performance
TiLink TCA-AA, titanium acetylacetonate, can be used in a variety of applications that involve its reactive properties. The items below describe a few of the more salient features
1. Catalyst:
As a catalyst TiLink TCA-AA titanium acetylacetonate is used in an amount of ca 0.01-1 %. TiLink TCA-AA titanium acetylacetonate is often added as the last ingredient of the reaction components to prevent undesired pre-reactions. Transesterifications run at low temperatures < 100 C. Esterifications (e. G. Polyester preparation) need temperatures of > 180 C.
2. Crosslinking:
For cross-linking reactions TiLink TCA-AA titanium acetylacetonate is added to the polymer / binder in concentrations of ca. 0.5~5 %.
3. Coating:
Titanium dioxide layers can be prepared by using thermal or hydrolytic processes. Thermal decomposition occurs at > 350~600 C. By spraying, dipping or brushing of the substrate from solutions and subsequent hydrolysis by moisture also TiO2 layers are formed.
4. Primer:
As primer TiLink TCA-AA titanium acetylacetonate is applied normally in very low concentrations of ca. 0.1~5 % in an organic solvent such as isopropanol. Heating after application to 80~100 C for a short time might be of advantage.
5. Sol-Gel:
Total or partial hydrolysis of TiLink TCA-AA titanium acetylacetonate possibly in combination with other metal alkoxides affords metal oxides for use as binder or coating.
